Smallville 8 p.m., Channel 56 Pam Grier begins a multi-episode arc in tonight’s two-hour special episode of “Smallville’’ about the Justice Society of America. The blaxploitation icon will play a villian, Agent Amanda Waller. Let’s hope the writers treat her better than the “L Word’’ writers, who never quite seemed to know what to do with Grier’s character. Keith Olbermann is moving his grievances with his former employer Current TV from the airwaves to the courtroom, suing the network for more than $50 million and blasting it for what he claims were shoddy production values. Olbermann's breach-of-contract lawsuit filed in Los Angeles on Thursday also seeks a judge's ruling that he didn't disparage the network before his firing, and that his former bosses violated his agreement by disclosing how much he was being paid. The complaint describes a litany of technical issues, including shoddy equipment that wouldn't work if it rained,...

I Get That A Lot 8 p.m., Channel 4 Do you ever see someone and think, "wow, that person looks just like (insert famous name here)? That is the entire premise of this occasional series, which finds famous folks posing as retail and food service workers and denying who they are as they wait on suspicious celeb-spotters. Tonight's edition includes a funny exchange with talk host Jerry Springer (pictured) who is told by a woman that he's a "clone" for Michael Douglas. When he tells her he is often mistaken for Jerry Springer she responds "he's creepy" and Springer agrees, adding for good measure "he's ruining...

The War Room With Jennifer Granholm 9 p.m., Current This new nightly political talk fest features the former two-term Michigan governor digging in to the 2012 election. Granholm (left, with Al Gore, chairman of Current TV) recently told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour that she believes she offers a unique perspective. "I'm the only person on cable, or otherwise, TV that is a former governor that's focused on the election, politics, and policy, and so I'll be able to show you something and listen to these guests and tell the viewers what are talking points and what...

There’s a scene in “Hot in Cleveland’’ where six people sit at a restaurant table making jokes. And they crowd together, filling half the table, so the cameras can give us all faces, no backs. It’s that brazenly theatrical positioning of actors toward the audience, with no pretense of trying to evoke realism. You wait for the scene to end with a flick-off of the lights so the actors can scatter off-stage and prepare for the next bit, like an old-fashioned stage revue. TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,’’ which premieres tonight at 10, is a broad, Vaudeville-style sitcom where everything...

HAPPILY DIVORCED Starring: Fran Drescher, John Michael Higgins, Rita Moreno, Robert Walden, Tichina Arnold On: TV Land Time: Tonight, 10:30-11 I do have a soft spot for Fran Drescher and her helium squawk. She’s naturally cartoony, and could conceivably be Donald Duck’s live-action niece from Queens. But she also projects a kind of naive common sense and New Yorky gumption that reminds me of early Barbra Streisand, before our Babs started taking herself too seriously.

Do you cherish every self-ironic joke that sputters from Joan Rivers’s Naugahyde lips, every snort that issues forth from her tightly carved nostrils, every would-be smile on her rubbery face? If you do - and I sometimes do - here’s a little show for your worshiping pleasure. Called “How’d You Get So Rich?,’’ it’s a knockoff of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’’ that’s an excuse for Rivers to ham it up with her distinctive brand of wry. It’s a half-hour of Joan being Joan to the Nth degree.

American Horror Story 10 p.m., FX As the first season comes to an end tonight, I still can't decide if I actually like this show. Is it brilliantly scary? Needlessly obtuse? Transparently derivative? Kinda yucky? Sometimes unintentionally funny? Why-are-they-still-living-there maddening? (I know, I know, but still.) Are-they-all-dead confusing? All of the above and more? One thing is for sure, it's great to have Jessica Lange (pictured) on TV. A Home for the Holidays With Martina McBride 8 p.m., Channel 4 The country music powerhouse hosts the 13th annual edition of this reliably...

Reggie Bush of Danville is out of town, but someone is taking his place: Reggie Bush. The New Orleans Saints star is spending the week in eastern Illinois, switching places while his namesake is living the offseason life of an NFL running back for a planned CBS reality-TV show, “Same Name.’’ Danville residents say Bush the running back has filmed scenes at the Fair Oaks Housing Complex and the Moon Glo restaurant. No word on whether he tried the restaurant’s signature Moon burger or its fried pickles.
