Jennifer Lopez is in Brazil this week for her show "Q'Viva," but she's never performed in the country. That will soon change when she headlines a music festival there this summer. The "American Idol" judge announced in a statement Monday that she would be performing at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo on June 23 and in Rio de Janeiro on June 27. Lopez was in Brazil to promote "Q'Viva," the Latin-focused talent show that she hosts with her ex, Marc Anthony. It airs on Univision and also Fox, which also airs "American Idol.

Residents who thought they missed out on one of the most popular events in town last week are in luck: The Southborough Rotary Club's annual talent show, postponed after bad weather interfered with the dress rehearsal, has been rescheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Trottier Middle School, 49 Parkerville Road. The British and Irish boy band One Direction, which opened for the American boy band Big Time Rush in Boston over the weekend, signed copies of its new album, "Up All Night," at the Natick Mall on Sunday (left). The group got its start on the British version of Simon Cowell's talent show "The X Factor. "

Dave Maynard once said that "when you do morning radio, you believe that everyone is listening to you," and for years, it seemed that nearly everyone did tune in to his morning show on WBZ-AM. In the 1980s, he was the region's top-rated morning personality, drawing more listeners than his rival Jess Caincq on WHDH-AM during what many considered a golden age of radio in Boston. With chatty familiarity, Mr. Maynard spoke to listeners in their cars and their kitchens and their offices, and added to his fame with a series of promotional TV ads that comically placed him in peril.
