WALPOLE - As coach Barry Greener addressed Walpole at Turco Field, he declared that last night's 16-13 victory over Natick would go down as one of the great Walpole wins in his 41 years of coaching. "I've been here for a long time, two great teams went at it tonight," Greener said. "We knew it was going to be a battle, and it lived up to its billing. " Sophomore Connor Mitchell kicked a 25-yard field goal with six seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to give the 10th-ranked Rebels (9-1, 8-1)

Michigan coaches and quarterback Denard Robinson acknowledged before the first snap of the season that it would take time for him to adjust playing in a new scheme. They were right. Robinson is running as well as ever, ranking fourth in the nation, to help the 19th-ranked Wolverines start 4-0 for the third straight year. The Patriots have won 15 straight games against the Buffalo Bills, but this will be a different visit to upstate New York. These aren't your older brother's Buffalo Bills. The Bills, who went 10-22 the previous two years and haven't had a winning season since 2004, are 2-0. The partisans at Ralph Wilson Stadium, fresh off Sunday's thrilling 38-35 victory over the Oakland Raiders, will be lubed up for the first-ever 2-0 clash between the Patriots and Bills. Somewhat surprisingly, the Bills last won their first two games in 2008, when they...

DANVERS - It was Dracut quarterback Jimmy Ryan's first varsity game starting under center, but the 5-foot-10-inch junior showed the poise of a seasoned veteran. With just more than a minute to play, and the Middies clinging to a 6-point lead, he faced fourth and 11. Ryan took the snap and ran for 12 yards to pick up the first down and secure No. 11 Dracut's 13-7 win over No. 8 St. John's Prep yesterday. "With the spread offense, if the defensive end comes at you, you hand it off, but if he goes at the running back, you pull it," said Ryan, who finished with 113...
