Former Patriots receiver Randy Moss took to live video-chat website ustream.tv this morning to celebrate his 35th birthday and make an announcement: he wants to make a comeback. "I just wanna go to a team and play some football," Moss said. Would Randy Moss work with the New York Giants? (Jim Davis / Globe file) By Zuri Berry, Boston.com Staff With the decimated state of the New York Giants receiving corps, Randy Moss seems like a viable option to play catch with Eli Manning, writes New York Daily News columnist Tim Smith . The New Orleans Saints held a workout on Tuesday with veteran receiver Randy Moss, who is trying to make a comeback after spending a year out of pro football. General Manager Mickey Loomis confirmed the workout took place, but the club did not provide any details on how the 35-year-old Moss performed. New Orleans may be in the market for a receiver this offseason because two of quarterback Drew Brees' regular targets, Marques Colston and Robert Meachem, are entering free agency, and it remains to be seen whether the Saints can offer the type of contracts that both...

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady suffered torn anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee last Sunday, NFL sources confirmed yesterday. Medical tests on the knee, including an MRI performed Monday, indicated no damage to other ligaments, and no torn cartilage. In cases like this, doctors typically wait for the MCL to heal, then reconstruct the ACL. Brady will likely undergo surgery in approximately one month and face 6-9 months of recovery and rehabilitation, barring complications.
