Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht is leaving the organization to take a role with the Cardinals, league sources said Wednesday. It is unknown what Licht's official job title will be with Arizona, but SiriusXM contributor Adam Caplan reported that T.J. McCreight, who has served as the Cardinals' director of pro personnel, is expected to join the Colts. Licht did spend the 2008 season with the Cardinals as a personnel executive, so he does have previous experience with the club.

Deputy sheriffs and rescue personnel in South Carolina have reunited a 4-year-old cocker spaniel with her family after she fell down a 30-foot well. The Anderson Independent-Mail reports ( http://bit.ly/JXbqMj) that the dog, Reese, wanted to see what her family members were doing as they worked to repair a home well. The dog jumped on top of the well Friday evening to see what was inside. With the well cover removed, the dog fell down the well and began paddling to stay afloat.

The mayor of Warwick has restricted travel to emergency vehicles. Mayor Scott Avedisian (aa-vuh-DEE-zhun) said Sunday that effective immediately, only emergency vehicles are allowed to travel on city streets. Keeping motorists off the roadways will allow emergency workers to more easily clear debris and reach flooded areas. High winds have downed trees and power lines. He said the efforts of public safety and public works crews have been hindered by residents headed to the shoreline to see the surf.

Britain's armed forces minister says approximately 10,500 army personnel will be deployed to help protect the London Olympics. Responding to a written parliamentary question about how many army members will be on duty, Nick Harvey said Wednesday that under current plans, about 1,700 army reservists and 8,800 regular army personnel will be deployed during the games, which run from July 27 to August 12. Honduran President Porfirio Lobo says the United States is sending people to help Honduras battle the violent crime that led to the withdrawal of U.S. Peace Corps volunteers this week. Lobo says the Americans will work on analyzing the problems. Lobo told the HRN radio network Thursday that "soon there will be U.S. personnel here … and that will contribute to the tranquility of the Honduran people. " He did not say if the Americans would come from some government agency or a private company.

New England Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht got a second interview Thursday for the Chicago Bears' general manager's job. Licht is one of two finalists. Kansas City director of college scouting Phil Emery is the other and is expected to have his second interview Friday as the Bears look for a replacement for Jerry Angelo, who was fired after an 8-8 season. The Bears also interviewed San Diego Chargers director of player personnel Jimmy Raye, New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross, and current director of player personnel Tim Ruskell.

The individual would report directly to the department's chief, and the position's list of responsibilities includes organizing and supervising personnel for firefighting, emergency medical services, and nonemergency responses, and performing inspections of personnel and equipment.
