OMAHA, Neb. — Welcome to the NCAA tournament, Norfolk State. Might as well stick around a while. Kyle O'Quinn had 26 points and 14 rebounds, making several key plays in the closing minutes, and the gritty No. 15 seed Spartans held on through a tense final minute to topple second-seeded Missouri 86-84 on Friday in the West Regional. Pendarvis Williams and Chris McEachin each added 20 points for the MEAC champion Spartans (26-9), who made their first trip to the NCAA tournament a memorable one. They became the fifth No. 15 seed to beat a No. 2 and the first since fellow conference member...

Chase Daniel threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin in overtime and Missouri rallied to beat Northwestern , 30-23, last night in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. After the 25th-ranked Tigers scored on the opening possession of OT, their defense delivered, too. Missouri sacked a backpedaling C.J. Bacher, forcing a fumble that left Northwestern with fourth and goal from the 32. Bacher's desperation heave into the end zone was knocked down, and Daniel rushed off the sideline with his teammates to celebrate.

Missouri has taken another step toward leaving the Big 12 Conference and there is interest in the SEC in taking the Tigers. Deaton, who had earlier been given the OK to explore options, gave no timeline for a decision but indicated that a move, if it happens, would not take much longer.

Tyshawn Taylor simply smiled, shook his head in disbelief, and tried to describe his emotions. "I'm so proud of my teammates," he said finally. "They stuck it out, man. " In the final scheduled game between Kansas and Missouri, it was only fitting the two bitter adversaries would need five extra minutes to decide it. Robinson's 3-point play in the waning moments of regulation kept their 105-year-old rivalry alive, and Taylor's foul shots with 8.3...

DENVER -- Rick Santorum catapulted back into the presidential limelight today, prevailing over his rivals in Missouri and Minnesota and running strongly in the very early returns in Colorado against frontrunner Mitt Romney. Nearly an hour later, the AP declared that Santorum had also won Minnesota. A jubilant Santorum told supporters in St. Charles, Missouri, that his resounding victories would be heard loud across the country.
