Evgeni Nabokov made 40 saves and the New York Islanders snapped a 13-game losing streak in Philadelphia with a 4-1 victory over the Flyers on Thursday night. Josh Bailey, Matt Moulson, Mark Streit and Michael Grabner scored to help the Islanders also break an eight-game losing streak against Philadelphia, which had won 23 of its previous 24 games against the Islanders. The victory was the Islanders' third in their last four games, and it marked the first time New York won in Philadelphia since April 7, 2007, a 4-2 victory.

Mark Streit, Matt Moulson and Frans Nielsen had three points each, and the New York Islanders beat the New Jersey Devils 6-2 in a preseason game on Saturday night. Moulson scored twice and assisted on a first-period goal by Streit, the Islanders' new captain. Nielsen, Kyle Okposo, and Steve Staios also added goals for New York. Eight Islanders had at least one point, and New York held a 26-25 shots advantage. Al Montoya and Kevin Poulin both played half the game in the nets for the Islanders (1-1)

Steven Stamkos scored twice to tie the Lightning record with 52 goals this season, and Tampa Bay beat the New York Islanders 4-3 on Saturday night. Stamkos gave the Lightning a 2-0 lead with his second of the night and tied Vincent Lecavalier's club record 1:46 into the second. Stamkos also assisted on Tim Wallace's goal that gave Tampa Bay a 4-3 edge at 12:10 of the third. Matt Moulson netted his 33rd goal to put the Islanders ahead 3-2 just 43 seconds into the third, but Tampa Bay tied it on Tom Pyatt's goal at 9:08.

The New York Islanders have given a multiyear deal to another of their top young players, agreeing to a two-year contract with Josh Bailey a day after agreeing to terms with John Taveres on a six-year deal. Bailey was the Islanders' first-round pick, ninth overall, in 2008. The 21-year-old center had 11 goals and 17 assists for New York in 70 games last year. He has 34 goals and 54 assists in 211 games over three seasons. The team announced the deal early Friday. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Parenteau redirected a shot by Milan Jurcina for his 12th goal and 50th point of the season at 1:36 of the third period. Matt Moulson also scored for the Islanders (24-24-8) with his team-leading 25th goal of the season. Matt Martin sealed the victory with an empty-netter with 53 seconds left that was assisted by Parenteau.

John Tavares scored two goals and had two assists to lead the New York Islanders over the Carolina Hurricanes 5-2 on Tuesday night. P.A. Parenteau and Matt Moulson scored power-play goals to give the Islanders a 2-0 lead after two periods and help New York move two points ahead of Carolina at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Carolina rallied with goals from Brandon Sutter and Tim Brent early in the third period to get even, but Tavares put the Islanders back in front, and Kyle Okposo added an empty-net goal with 1:22 left.
