Refreshed in body and spirit, the Miami Heat returned to practice reunited and refocused. There was no looking back. No heartfelt apologies given. No need for a detailed autopsy of Dwyane Wade's ugly sideline exchange with coach Eric Spoelstra in Game 3. What's done is done. All that's for another day. Right now, it's time to save the season. "We move on," Wade said. Down 2-1 in the Eastern Conference semifinals to the ready-to-rumble Indiana Pacers, the Heat were back on the floor Saturday after staying away from Bankers Life Fieldhouse for a day to decompress following their...

Pacers reserve guard Lance Stephenson apologized for making a choking gesture toward LeBron James. The NBA's MVP wasn't so forgiving. In fact, he didn't even know he had been mocked. James said Saturday that he was unaware that Stephenson had been caught by cameras in front of Indiana's bench wrapping his hands around his throat after the Miami star after a missed technical foul during Game 3 on Thursday night. So when James was asked for his reaction, he dismissed Stephenson.

Indiana forward Danny Granger left the Pacers' Eastern Conference semifinal game against the Miami Heat on Tuesday night early in the second half with a sprained left ankle. The Pacers said Granger would not return. Indiana will host Game 6 of the series on Thursday night. Granger got hurt late in the first half, missing a 3-pointer with about 3 minutes left and landing on LeBron James' foot. Granger went down near the Heat bench, and play was stopped about 15 seconds later.

LeBron James' first order of business in 2012: Drop to one knee and ask longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson to be his wife. Yes, she said yes. Moments after ringing in the new year, James surprised his high school sweetheart by popping the question — letting very few people in on the secret beforehand. He did it at a party both to celebrate New Year's Eve and his 27th birthday, which was Friday. "My girl, she's very excited," James said Sunday night after he and the Miami Heat beat Charlotte 129-90.

Even the Peoria Chiefs are poking fun at LeBron James. The Chicago Cubs’ Class A affiliate in Illinois is holding a LeBron James NBA Championship Replica Ring Giveaway at Thursday night’s game. The replica rings, like a Miami Heat championship, don’t exist. The Chiefs also said they hoped to skip the fourth inning of Thursday’s game against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to “honor’’ James, who was criticized for his poor performance in the fourth quarter of games during the NBA finals against Dallas.

LeBron is in, Henry is out. While LeBron James managed to rub it in the faces of both distraught Red Sox fans and distraught NBA fans by announcing that he would be attending the soccer match between Liverpool and Manchester United on Saturday, Sox owner John Henry has reportedly decided to cancel his plans to be in attendance at Anfield. According to the Herald's Inside Track column , Henry and wife Linda Pizzuti canceled their planned trip to England to watch the LFC-Man U match in person.

I’M A former Clevelander, and I would agree with Gary Washburn that LeBron James needs a good public relations consultant. But I had a very different interpretation of the quote for which Washburn criticized James (“An expensive distaste for James,’’ Sports, June 14). It sounded less like James was flaunting his wealth and success and more like he was pointing out that basketball is just a game and that whether he wins or loses won’t change anyone’s life. In other words, James was saying that fans need to get some perspective.

LeBron James took his talents to Liverpool on Friday — and finally got his hands on a championship trophy. The Miami Heat star toured the Premier League club's facilities for the first time since becoming a shareholder of the 18-time English champions. James held up the Champions League trophy won by Liverpool in 2005 and posted a picture on Twitter of a red No. 6 jersey with his name on it. The two-time MVP will sit in the directors' box at Anfield Stadium for Saturday's Premier League match against Liverpool rival Manchester United.

Spectacular as it seemed, it was nothing we haven't seen from LeBron James before. Maybe that's the funny thing about all the hoopla over James' performance in Game 4 of the Pacers-Heat series. Because for once, it wasn't just his talent that deserved the spotlight, but his maturity. The question, after all, was never how good James was; he answered that long before his fateful decision to trade Cleveland for Miami turned James into the superstar everybody loves to hate. He won a scoring championship, back-to-back MVP awards and single-handedly dragged the Cavs into the playoffs each...

You can't blame US Olympic men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski if he's rooting against the Heat in the NBA playoffs. An Indiana victory will free up LeBron James , Dwyane Wade , and Chris Bosh to join newly sprung Blake Griffin and Chris Paul of the Clippers. Also still playing are Kevin Durant , Russell Westbrook , and James Harden of the Thunder, Kobe Bryant of the Lakers, and Andre Iguodala of the 76ers. After the league's truncated, cram-jammed season, Krzyzewski would love for his 18 candidates to have...

With revenues that exceeded $1 billion for the first time in its 21-year history, it's no surprise that Sapient Corp., based in Boston's Back Bay, is back again as the top services company in the Globe 100, a spot it has occupied for two of the last three years. The biggest driver was the company's SapientNitro marketing services business, which grew 33 percent over the previous year and accounted for 67 percent of Sapient's revenues in 2011. Sapient's history as a technology-focused company has clearly served it well in the current marketing climate.

LeBron James grabbed a seat on Miami's bench, lowered his head, and stared down at the floor. Way down. The Heat are in a hole. Roy Hibbert had 19 points and 18 rebounds, George Hill scored 20, and Danny Granger 17 as the Pacers, showing more balance, toughness, and togetherness than Miami, throttled the malfunctioning Heat, 94-75, Thursday night in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals in Indianapolis. Overlooked during the regular season and given little chance to upset the reigning East champions, the Pacers took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven...

LeBron James scored 33 points, Chris Bosh added 30, and the Heat used a huge third-quarter turnaround to erase a big deficit and beat San Antonio, 120-98, last night in Miami, snapping a three-game slide. Miami outscored San Antonio, 39-12, in the third quarter - the second-largest differential for any quarter in Heat history, and the second-worst differential for a period in Spurs history. The Heat trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half, 52-35. Miami's Mike Miller made his season debut and shot 6 for 6 on 3-pointers, finishing with 18 points.

MIAMI (AP) — No Big Three meant one big problem for Miami, and one very big win for Indiana. David West scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, George Hill added 15 and the Indiana Pacers took home-court advantage away from Miami by beating the Heat 78-75 in Game 2 of the teams' Eastern Conference semifinal series Tuesday night. LeBron James scored 28 points for Miami and Dwyane Wade finished with 24, but both missed big chances for the Heat late. James missed two free throws with 54.3 seconds left and Miami down one, and Wade was short on a layup that would have tied the game with 16 seconds...
