Dayron Robles of Cuba was disqualified for obstruction after finishing first in the 110-meter hurdles Monday at the world championships. Jason Richardson of the United States was declared the winner. Robles was disqualified after third-place finisher Liu Xiang of China protested, saying the Cuban grabbed him going over the ninth hurdle. The Cubans appealed the decision, but it was rejected by tack and field's ruling body. Richardson won in 13.16 seconds, followed by Liu in 13.27.

Lou Williams scored 23 points off the bench as the Philadelphia 76ers built an early lead and held on to send the Bobcats to their 15th straight defeat, 98-89, last night in Charlotte, N.C. Thaddeus Young added 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and Jrue Holiday chipped in with 19 points for the 76ers. Williams was averaging 19 points over the previous four games. He stayed hot, making several big shots including a 3-pointer with 6:11 remaining after the Bobcats had pulled within 71-69.

LeBron James scored 33 points and the Cavaliers moved above .500 for the first time in more than three years by beating the Golden State Warriors, 99-88, last night in Cleveland for their fourth straight win. Jeff McInnis added 20 points, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas 16 for the Cavaliers (4-3), who hadn't had a winning record since Jan. 10, 2001, when they were 17-16. Dwight Howard had 20 points and 24 rebounds, Ryan Anderson scored 23 points, and the Orlando Magic beat the Charlotte Bobcats 100-79 on Friday night for their third straight victory. Orlando jumped to an 11-0 lead and never trailed, eventually leading 56-43 at halftime and building the lead up to as many as 21 in the second half. Charlotte never got closer than nine points in the second half. Anderson was 5 of 12 from 3-point range, as the Magic shot 43 percent from beyond the arc. Jason Richardson scored 28 of his season-high 31 points in the second half and made nine 3-pointers to lead the Orlando Magic to a 99-94 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night. The Bucks limited Dwight Howard to 11 points and 14 rebounds, but had no defense for Richardson, who unleashed a barrage of 3-pointers in the second half that helped Orlando erase a 10-point fourth quarter deficit and pull ahead. Dwight Howard had 27 points and eight rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic to an 85-81 win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Danny Granger had 19 points and seven rebounds and Tyler Hansbrough had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Pacers, who have lost two of three to the Magic in less than two weeks. Jason Richardson scored a season-high 22 points, Glen Davis added a season-best 20, and the Orlando Magic beat the Kings, 104-97, last night in Sacramento, despite playing much of the game without foul-plagued Dwight Howard. The All-Star center had 5 points and four rebounds in 20 minutes and spent most of the first three quarters in foul trouble. He didn't get his first rebound until four minutes into the fourth and was scoreless before converting a 3-point play with 6:35 remaining, putting the Magic ahead, 87-85.

The Orlando Magic pulled off one of the most amazing feats of the NBA season last week when it rallied from 24 points down to beat Miami. But last night at home, the Magic found that winning without their biggest star was too big of a challenge opposite a team that’s fighting for its playoff life down the stretch. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points, Andre Miller added 15, and the Portland Trail Blazers held on to beat the Magic, who were without the suspended Dwight Howard, 89-85.
