Quarterback Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts will part ways, according to a report by ESPN football reporter Chris Mortensen. An official announcement is expected Wednesday. Manning, who spent 14 years in Indianapolis and won four MVP awards and a Super Bowl, was due a $28 million bonus, but instead will become a free agent. He missed the entire 2011 season because of a neck injury. Manning holds all of the Colts's major passing records. But the Colts, who have the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft in April, appear ready to start fresh at the position.

INDIANAPOLIS - Peter Horch and Jim Gamage had been having a pretty typical experience for Patriots fans at the Super Bowl. They had been in a bar, and the bartender had been very nice, dripping in this city's famed Hoosier hospitality. "We kept saying, ‘That would never happen in Boston,' " Gamage said. Then the talk turned to football, and the bartender's tone immediately changed. "She said, ‘I hate the Patriots,' " Horch said. "But she was nice about it. " "It was a nice hate," Gamage added.
