Ryan Getzlaf scored in overtime as the Anaheim Ducks gave Edmonton fans an unhappy final look at their team at home this season, defeating the Oilers 3-2 on Thursday night. An Edmonton shot caromed off the boards and came all the way down the ice for a Getzlaf breakaway, and he beat Edmonton goalie Devan Dubnyk through the legs 1:12 into extra time. Andrew Cogliano and Bobby Ryan also scored for the Ducks who ended a three-game winless streak and moved up to 23rd in the NHL with one game to play this season.

Cody Hodgson scored the shootout winner and the Vancouver Canucks beat Edmonton 3-2 on Tuesday night, sending the Oilers to their sixth straight road loss. Hodgson beat Edmonton goalie Devan Dubnyk in the fifth round of the shootout with a shot that trickled between his pads. Alex Edler scored earlier in the shootout for the Canucks, but Ales Hemsky extended the tiebreaker by beating Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo with a backhand. Vancouver moved within three points of the idle Detroit Red Wings, who lead the Western Conference.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Raffi Torres scored the go-ahead goal on a deflection in the second period, helping Edmonton eliminate the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, 2-1, last night and advance to the Stanley Cup finals. The eighth-seeded Oilers won the Western Conference finals, 4-1, and will play for the Cup for the first time since winning it in 1990. Edmonton awaits Carolina or Buffalo, whose Eastern Conference finals series is tied, 2-2. The Oilers are the lowest-seeded team to ever reach the finals.

Daniel Paille will undergo surgery tomorrow at Massachusetts General Hospital to repair a broken nose. Paille suffered the injury in the third period of last night's 6-2 win over the Islanders. Paille was hit in the nose by a Steve Staios slap shot. According to GM Peter Chiarelli, Paille will be day-to-day following the procedure. It's unlikely Paille will be available for Thursday's game against Edmonton. @GlobeFluto

Taylor Hall scored in the third period to give Edmonton a two-goal cushion and the Oilers beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Tuesday night. Jordan Eberle and Eric Belanger also scored for the Oilers, who are 2-0-1 in their last three games after losing eight of nine. Devan Dubnyk made 31 saves. Peter Mueller and Gabriel Landeskog had goals for the Avalanche, who have lost three in a row and fallen out of playoff position.
