Peyton Manning's two biggest targets are a pair of promising young receivers who have already made their mark in the NFL despite spending lots of time on the sideline. Neither Demaryius Thomas nor Eric Decker has put together a complete season in the NFL — or, for that matter, a full offseason. Both missed much of the lead-up to their rookie year in 2010 with foot injuries. Last year there was the lockout, plus another injury for Thomas. Decker shined for two months last season but faded after Tim Tebow took over at quarterback for Kyle Orton.

The nation won't have to wait long to see Peyton Manning in a Broncos uniform. Manning's first game as Broncos quarterback will come in prime time as Denver hosts Pittsburgh on the opening Sunday of the NFL season. The four-time MVP was released by Indianapolis after missing the 2011 season following neck surgery. After conducting a four-city lottery for his services, Manning landed in Denver, which hasn't won a Super Bowl since his new boss, John Elway, was behind center. "We're excited about that.

Curt Schilling stood at the back of the mound and prayed, pressing his cross pendant to his lips. David Ortiz points to the heavens each time he blasts a home run. Football players hold hands in prayer circles and soccer players make the sign of the cross. But quarterback Tim Tebow, with his kneeling prayer after each touchdown and other overt displays of faith, has captured the imagination of the nation - and stirred some controversy - in a way that none of the others have.

FOXBOROUGH - Tom Brady called his tight ends "great assets to this offense," but to the Denver Broncos, the versatile tandem of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez posed a much more puzzling problem. They were like a Rubik's Cube; a brain teaser with no clear-cut solution. Last night, the Broncos were completely baffled by New England's tight ends, just as they were Dec. 18 in Denver. They simply had no answer for Gronkowski and Hernandez, who proved a tough matchup problem in leading the Patriots in receiving and rushing, respectively, in a 45-10 romp at...

Tim Tebow is coming to New York. Really. After a big false start, the New York Jets pulled off a Tebow-like comeback Wednesday night, getting the quarterback who turned the Denver Broncos from an also-ran into a playoff team last season and became the NFL's most talked-about player — for a fourth- and sixth-round draft pick. Now, Tebowmania is opening on Broadway. And, there's sure to be plenty of drama — just as there was from the moment the Jets pulled off the deal.

FOXBOROUGH – As the New England Patriots' preparations for last night's AFC Divisional round game against the Denver Broncos began to wind down on Thursday, there were some curious happenings at Gillette Stadium: Bill Belichick was downright chipper in his pre-practice press conference; after practice, defensive captain Jerod Mayo admitted that he felt he and his teammates were better prepared for their second meeting against Tim Tebow and the...

Chaotic, arrogant, sometimes even crass. And if you think the New York Jets are bad, you should see their fans. Welcome to The Big Apple, Tim Tebow. If you can make it there … well, let's just say the attention you received in Denver — the obsessing over your throwing technique, what kind of teammate you were, your religious beliefs, your musical preferences, where you went for dinner and, yes, even your Tebowing — will seem like a quick once-over compared to the microscope you'll be under in Manhattan.

Tebowmania's headed to New York, and the drama has already started for Jets fans. It began the moment the Jets pulled off the deal for the Broncos quarterback. Or thought they did. Eight hours and one huge snag later, the trade was on again. But not before the Jets added to the franchise's already lengthy list of embarrassing moments. Sure, Tebowmania is coming to New York, but it certainly wasn't a smooth deal. And it didn't come without some controversy — something this Jets season could be filled with the moment Mark Sanchez struggles and...

On the day the Denver Broncos celebrated the arrival of Peyton Manning, all the action photos of Tim Tebow that once graced the hallways at the team facility were gone. How's that for a subtle hint? Though executive John Elway and coach John Fox wouldn't exactly come out and say it, the Tebow era in Denver looks to be all but over. At a news conference Tuesday to introduce Manning, Elway said he's exploring all his options for Tebow, the incredibly popular and polarizing quarterback who led the Broncos back to the playoffs last season for the first time since 2005.
