The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded tight end Kellen Winslow to the Seattle Seahawks for a draft pick on Monday night and signed former Colts star Dallas Clark to replace him. Earlier in the day, Winslow told SiriusXM radio that first-year coach Greg Schiano was "kind of upset" that Winslow has not been working out with the team during the offseason. "That's kind of shocking, but that's what it is," Winslow said, adding that Schiano told him the coach "would help me out with a trade.

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning made his first appearance in front of his home fans in nearly a month. During Sunday night's pregame warmups, Manning stood next to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen as he threw passes to Dallas Clark. Manning then walked over to another receiver, Austin Collie, and slapped hands with his teammate. Manning's last appearance at Lucas Oil Stadium was Aug. 26 when he dressed in the same khaki slacks and blue-and-white golf shirt for a preseason game.

Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts were in the Super Bowl just two short years ago, ball in the quarterback's hands, three minutes to go. Manning threw a pass intended for teammate Reggie Wayne that ended up in the hands of New Orleans Saints defensive back Tracy Porter, and that, in retrospect, was the end of the Indianapolis empire. Last season, the Colts went 2-14. On Wednesday, they will release Manning. Where the Colts go from here is an obvious mystery, with or without the No. 1 pick in next month's annual draft.

The Indianapolis Colts are starting over. Completely. Two days after releasing Peyton Manning, the longtime face of the franchise, the Colts announced they were cutting four fan favorites: running back Joseph Addai, linebacker Gary Brackett, safety Melvin Bullitt and tight end Dallas Clark. Quarterback Curtis Painter also was released Friday. "All these players, we'd love to have them here," new general manager Ryan Grigson said during a hastily arranged conference call with reporters.

For those fans already giving the AFC West title and maybe a whole lot more to the Mannings, uh, Broncos, some words of caution. Sure, Denver won the division last season, but it hardly was a display of power. The Broncos went 8-8 in the weakest sector in the NFL, winning mostly on defense, long-range field goals and the resilience of Tim Tebow. Not to mention some incredible good fortune and brain freeze by opponents. And yes, that formula is certain to change quite a bit with Peyton Manning running the show.
