An explosion in a car wash in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo killed at least five people on Saturday, activists said, while another blast in the capital destroyed nine cars. Bomb attacks have grown more common in Syria's two largest cities as the uprising against President Bashar Assad grows increasingly militarized. Many in the opposition have taken up arms since protesters first took to the street in March 2011 and now regularly clash with government forces around the country.

MEXICO CITY — Gunmen killed 15 men at a car wash yesterday in a Mexican Pacific coast state where drug-gang violence has risen this year. It was the third massacre in Mexico in less than a week. The gunmen in three vehicles drove up to the car wash in the city of Tepic and opened fire without provocation, said Fernando Carvajal, public safety secretary of Nayarit state, where the city is located. Three people survived the attack with injuries. The motive was not immediately clear but investigators suspect it was the work of organized crime, Carvajal told reporters.

They left her son and the man's 4- or 5-year-old daughter in the car. Benjamin says the boy climbed out of his child seat, found the gun and accidentally shot himself.

Ever since "The Sopranos," cable TV has become the petri dish where viewers can watch moral quandary grow. Shows such as "Dexter," about a serial killer who kills serial killers, and "Rescue Me," about a heroic firefighter with post-9/11 trauma who happens to be a louse, make it hard for us to rush to easy judgment. Now, on "Breaking Bad," AMC's original-series follow-up to "Mad Men," we get a chemistry teacher with terminal lung cancer who wants to sell crystal meth to provide for his family before he dies.
