DIGHTON - Though rare for a football coach to admit, Bourne's John McIntyre confessed his team was nervous entering last night's showdown at Dighton-Rehoboth. "We thought we matched up well against them, but we were nervous going in because of all the talent they have," McIntyre said. "They were the league champions last year for a reason. " If the Canalmen were nervous they certainly didn't show it, as Bourne downed the host Falcons, 22-6, at Robert T. Roy Field. Bourne improved to 8-0 (4-0 South Coast Conference)

BRIDGEWATER - As more and more teams looking to rebuild adopt the spread offense, Bourne coach John McIntyre and dynamic senior captain Joe Epps have continued to succeed the old-fashioned way: by running the Wing-T. Epps ran for three touchdowns last night and the Canalmen defeated Bishop Feehan, 22-14, at Bridgewater-Raynham High and punched their ticket to the Division 3A Super Bowl. Bourne will meet Hamilton-Wenham Saturday. Epps's speed and power for the South Coast Conference champs was on full display as he ran for 117 yards on 12 carries.

LYNN - A defiant second-half defensive performance helped Bourne cap off an undefeated season with a 16-14 victory over Hamilton-Wenham in the Division 3A Super Bowl at Manning Field yesterday. "We really tightened up our defense in the second half, which was just outstanding," Bourne coach John McIntyre said. "Our defense really saved the game for us. " It was the first Super Bowl title for the Canalmen, who were down, 14-8, after a high-paced first half that ended with Generals quarterback Trevor Lyons wincing in pain from a right shoulder injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the game.

"Echelon Conspiracy" combines a righteous message about out-of-control government surveillance with the old computer-gone-haywire plot to make - well, not very much, actually. Granted, the filmmakers show some wit in casting Hollywood leftie Martin Sheen as the cantankerous head of the NSA, with a picture of George W. Bush on his office wall. And there's a darn good fight scene halfway through, but that's the only time the filmmakers come even close to their apparent dreams of making a "Bourne"-style international thriller.

How bad was Gilroy's script for "The Bourne Ultimatum"? Bad . "It's just that it was unreadable. This is a career-ender. I mean, I could put this thing up on eBay and it would be game over for that dude. It's terrible.
