A Massachusetts man accused of plotting to fly remote-controlled model planes packed with explosives into the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol was asked to leave a Boston mosque because of his radical views. An official with the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center says Rezwan Ferdaus of Ashland was suspected of admiring al-Qaida and criticized the mosque's participation in interfaith efforts and politics. Boston Globe film critic Wesley Morris was awarded a 2012 Pulitzer Prize on Monday for essays and reviews that the judges said embodied "smart, inventive film criticism, distinguished by pinpoint prose, and an easy traverse between the art house and big-screen box office. " Morris, 36, who joined the Globe staff in 2002, won the prize for criticism with a range of work published in 2011. Among the pieces were reviews of "The Help," "Drive," "Water for Elephants," "The Tree of Life," and "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

The Boston Globe on Tuesday is introducing a new digital edition that will allow subscribers to read the newspaper electronically exactly as they would the print version, but on a laptop, tablet or mobile phone. Children's Hospital Boston is changing its name to what everybody calls it anyway. The hospital says it is gradually making the transition to the new name — Boston Children's Hospital. Spokeswoman Margaret Coughlin tells The Boston Globe ( http://b.globe.com/J0hpNV) hospital officials first discussed making the name official about two years ago, though the roll-out began only in the past couple of months. The old name was meant to highlight the hospital's national profile.

The Boston Herald has reached a deal with the rival Boston Globe to print and distribute its editions in the Boston area as the tabloid daily plans to lay off about 50 drivers and other personnel.
