Baskets, jewelry, and paintings will be among the items featured at the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society's annual fall fair next weekend. The fair will be held at 130 Waltham St. Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and next Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Members of the society have donated a wide selection of items to be sold. Proceeds will go to support the society. Admission and parking are free. - Brock Parker

Hi! My name is Lisa Marie. I love spending one-on-one time with people. Lisa Marie is a sweet and strong-willed 8-year old. She enjoys watching movies and playing videogames, and also likes to draw and play with her Barbies. She is doing well academically in second grade, and for social and emotional supports has an Individualized Education Program. She has participated in afterschool programs and done very well. She would benefit from engaging in community activities such as Girl Scouts, where peers can model typical social behaviors.

By Evan Allen, Town Correspondent A nonprofit seeking to end family homelessness in Massachusetts will celebrate an inaugural Families of Inspiration Benefit at Babson College on Saturday, May 5. One Family, Inc. is a local non-profit working to raise awareness of the effects of poverty in the state. They advocate higher education as the best way out of poverty for local families, and have a "One Family Scholars" program that has financially assisted low-income, single parents to earn college degrees.
