Low-interest loans available after fire

Residents and businesses affected by a four-alarm fire Jan. 16 in Brookline can now apply for low-interest disaster loans, the US Small Business Administration said yesterday. Representatives will be available to answer questions through Feb. 28 at the Disaster Loan Outreach Center at the Brookline Public Health Department on Pierce Street in Brookline. The Coolidge Corner blaze damaged about 20 apartments, five of them severely. One woman in her 20s was hospitalized for smoke inhalation, and four firefighters were treated for minor injuries, fire officials said.
