THE IMPASSE over selecting a new Cambridge mayor shows why the city needs to fix its broken and senseless process (“Cambridge mayor: The world is waiting,’’ Editorial, Feb. 21). It’s very simple: have the top vote-getter in the city council election take the spot. Leland Cheung was the top vote-getter. He should be mayor.
I understand some people want to have this experience when they’ve been on the council awhile, but we are an embarrassment to the rest of the world.
