BC wins Beanpot championship in OT

With 6.4 seconds remaining in overtime, sophomore center Bill Arnold beat BU goaltender Kieran Millan on a shot from the right circle that sailed over the netminder's glove, giving Boston College a 3-2 victory in the 60th annual Beanpot Tournament championship at TD Garden.
It was BC's third straight Beanpot crown.


Third period
7:12 - Boston College 2, Boston University 2 - Garrett Noonan scored his second goal of the night during a two-man advantage, lifting the Terriers into a tie with the Eagles.


Second period

18:42 - Boston College 2, Boston University 1 - The Terriers have tested fate one too many times with a continuous parade to the penalty box and the Eagles made them pay. Junior right wing Chris Kreider scored his team-leading 19th tally of the year, scoring on the power play to put BC back in front.


15:11 - Boston College 1, Boston University - Sophomore defenseman Garrett Noonan has tied it for the Terriers with a power-play goal. Sophomore left wing Matt Nieto set him up with a terrific feed from the right circle.


First period

8:54 - Boston College 1, Boston University 0 - Pat Mullane has given the Eagles the lead with a shorthanded goal. Mullane's shot from the left circle eluded goaltender Kieran Millan to the short side. It was the Eagles' 11th shorthanded goal of the year, tying them with Colgate for tops in the nation.

BC outshot BU, 16-9, in the period.
