Change in leadership at Vt. elementary school

February 13, 2012

There’s been a change in leadership at a Vermont elementary school.

The Bennington Banner reports (http://bit.ly/xlCuxk) the school district superintendent says Donna Cauley is serving as acting administrator on a temporary basis at Monument Elementary School, instead of principal Brian Crego. Cauley is assistant principal at Bennington Elementary.

Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union Superintendent Catherine McClure says Crego’s employment is a personnel matter and declined to comment on it further.

The change comes after fifth-grade teacher John Dockum was fired from the school last week, days after he pleaded not guilty to child pornography charges. McClure said the situation with Crego has “no relationship’’ with the Dockum investigation.
