Town light agency gets grant

The Reading Municipal Light Department is in line to receive a $50,000 energy grant from the state Department of Energy Resources, which is awarding funds for the first time to the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company and its project partners in Ipswich, Westfield, Chicopee, and Reading, to expand commercial and industrial customer energy efficiency rebate programs. In all, $200,000 in grants is being awarded to municipal power companies across the state in an effort to support energy efficiency projects. - Brenda J. Buote
