The MBTA on Thursday will hold a regional public hearing at Malden Government Center to get public input into proposed service and fare changes on trains, subways, and bus routes. The transit authority is proposing a mix of service cuts and fare hikes to cover a $161 million deficit for the new fiscal year that starts July 1. T officials will take public comments on the proposed changes from the general public. The meeting is not limited to Malden residents. It will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the council chamber. - Kathy McCabe
