The Black Bears’ Kyle Beattie had a goal and an assist, while Matt Mangene netted the game-winning goal late in the second period of Saturday night’s Hockey East game. No. 12 Maine improves to 17-9-3 overall and 12-8-2 in league play, while UMass Lowell falls to 19-8-0 and 14-7-0 in the conference.
Maine took a 1-0 lead in the first period and Lowell tied it in the second. Maine regained the lead at 18:37 of the second period with Mangene’s goal.
