New Hampshire and Merrimack skated away with a tie after both teams failed to score in the third period and overtime to break a 1-1 stalemate.
Saturday night’s Hockey East game was played on No. 8 Merrimack’s home ice in North Andover, Mass.
With the tie, UNH extended its unbeaten streak to four games. The Wildcats are 12-14-3 overall and 9-11-2 in the conference, while Merrimack is now 15-7-6 and 11-6-4 in Hockey East.
UNH goalie Casey DeSmith stopped 34 shots, while his counterpart Joe Cannata turned aside 40 shots including double-figures in all four periods.
