Pavel Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi scored shootout goals to give the Red Wings their 19th consecutive home victory, a 2-1 decision over the Anaheim Ducks last night.

Detroit tied the 1970-71 Boston Bruins for the second-longest home streak in NHL history. The 1975-76 Philadelphia Flyers and the 1929-30 Bruins won 20 consecutive games at home.

Justin Abdelkader scored for Detroit and Joey MacDonald made 29 saves.

Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom played in his 1,549th game to tie former Detroit star Alex Delvecchio’s NHL record for games with one team. It’s also the second-most games played in Detroit franchise history, behind Gordie Howe at 1,687.

George Parros scored for Anaheim, and Jonas Hiller stopped 23 shots. Teemu Selanne scored in the shootout.

Sabres 3, Stars 2 - Nathan Gerbe scored the decisive shootout goal in the fifth round and host Buffalo rallied from a two-goal, third-period deficit to beat Dallas.

Derek Roy forced overtime by scoring with 39 seconds left, and Thomas Vanek also scored to help the Sabres improve to 5-0-1 in their last six games. Ryan Miller made 24 saves in helping the Sabres (24-24-6) jump into 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

Sharks 5, Blackhawks 3 - Benn Ferriero scored the tiebreaking goal with 14:20 remaining in the third period to send San Jose off on a lengthy trip on a winning note, beating visiting Chicago.

Joe Thornton, Dan Boyle, Justin Braun and Jamie McGinn also scored to help the Sharks avoid losing three straight games in regulation for the first time since October.

Avalanche 4, Hurricanes 3 - Ryan O’Reilly scored on a slap shot with 1.2 seconds remaining in overtime and Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped a season-high 39 shots in host Colorado’s victory over Carolina.

Gabriel Landeskog, Milan Hejduk and Paul Stastny also scored for Colorado. The Avalanche have won two in a row after a five-game skid.
