A two-alarm blaze at the Quincy Yacht Club yesterday was probably burning for several hours before firefighters received a call, officials said. The Fire Department received a call at 10:46 a.m. from a commuter on an MBTA ferry who saw flames at the club in Houghs Neck. Deputy Fire Chief Ed Fenby said the fire could have been underway for three or four hours before anyone realized it. The fire began with an electrical malfunction near an ice machine and eventually spread through a wall and across the attic, according to officials. The fire was brought under control quickly, Fenby said, but damages are estimated at about $200,000, according to Fenby. There was no one in the club at the time.
