Spring training has not started, but JetBlue Airways is taking the Red Sox to the skies with a custom Red Sox-branded Airbus A320 at Logan International Airport in Boston.
The aircraft, inspired by the team’s uniform, features blue wing tips and a gray tail that depicts the team’s dangling red socks. The plane, which enters service today with a flight to Fort Myers, Fla. - where the team trains - also sports a banner commemorating Fenway Park’s 100th anniversary.
A photo of the plane, the first to sport a Major League Baseball uniform, was not available yesterday. JetBlue, the largest carrier at Logan, is the official Red Sox airline sponsor.
