Designer dress and accessory rental site Rent the Runway has retired some of its pieces and is now selling them at deep discounts. Gently worn Milly, Nicole Miller, Halston Heritage, Missoni, Preen, Proenza Schouler, and others are marked at 50-85 percent below retail, as is a stunning array of necklaces, earrings, cuffs, bracelets, and rings. Harvard Square sister stores MDF and Motto are running a winter sale, with jewelry, home items, and personal accessories marked down 30-40 percent. MDF had Liz Kinder ceramics, Italian-made picture frames, Suzi Roher belts, a few R&Y Augousti pieces, and floor samples (end tables, lighting) when we stopped in. Next door at Motto, a small but impressive selection of jewelry from Saundra Messinger, Talya Baharal, and others is marked down 30 percent. The sale is expected to run for the next couple of weeks.
