CM’s Reeves bound for Ohio State

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer has a perfect record in Massachusetts this offseason, securing the talents of the two top recruits in the state.

Catholic Memorial running back/defensive back Armani Reeves will sign a National Letter of Intent at a press conference at Ohio State tomorrow, Knights coach/athletic director Alex Campea said.

Reeves joins teammate Cam Williams, who announced 10 days ago his intention to sign with the Buckeyes and Meyer.

Reeves and Williams had verbally committed to Penn State but changed their minds after the sex abuse scandal that resulted in the firing of coach Joe Paterno.

Reeves, a 5-foot-11-inch, 195-pounder, earned All-Scholastic honors last fall, as did Williams. Reeves had 21 receptions, rushed for 1,103 yards, and scored 16 touchdowns. On defense, he had 51 tackles and an interception.

Boys’ basketball

Chelsea 69, Peabody 67 - Sammy Mojica (20 points) sank a pair of free throws with eight seconds left to lift the Red Devils (9-6).

Randolph 55, Blue Hills 44 - D’andre Lopes led the Blue Devils with 15 points, 8 steals, and 4 assists.

Manchester Essex 93, Greater Lowell 75 - Max Nesbit led the Hornets (12-1) with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Girls’ basketball

Andover 66, La Salle (R.I.) 57 - The No. 1 Golden Warriors (15-0) were led by Nicole Boudreau, who collected 20 points and nine rebounds.

Arlington Catholic 55, St. Mary’s 38 - Emma Roberson scored 20 points, surpassing the 1,000-point mark, as the fifth-ranked Cougars improved to 13-1.

Randolph 46, Cape Cod Academy 38 - Dominique Montrond led the Blue Devils (13-1) with 13 points, 5 steals, and 4 blocks.

Beaver Country Day 50, Newton Country Day 24 - Coach Sherry Levin earned her 200th career victory with the Beavers (11-1).

Boys’ hockey

Marshfield 3, Sandwich 1 - Connor McLean had two goals and an assist for the No. 11 Rams (11-2-1).

Oliver Ames 4, Quincy 3 - Dylan Burns had a hat trick for the Tigers.

Whitman-Hanson 10, New Bedford 2 - Cam MacDonald and Jake Bowen scored two goals apiece for the Panthers.

Girls’ hockey

Braintree 5, Austin Prep 2 - Senior Ally Perdios scored two goals as the No. 12 Wamps (9-3-1) topped the 19th-ranked Cougars (5-9).
