“They know they can play with anyone,’’ said Bill Clifford, in his eighth season as coach. “If they come to play they think they can play with anyone. I know they can. They’re a fast-skating team, they’ve played disciplined hockey, and it’s shown. They’re a confident bunch. They feel they can beat anyone on any given day.’’

The Mustangs have received a boost from sophomore John Galvin (9 goals, 3 assists), who has established himself as an important piece for the present and future.

“He’s scoring a lot this year,’’ said Clifford. “He was a freshman last year and got some playing time and did a good job last year. He’s gotten bigger and stronger since last year. He has a lot more confidence, and it’s showing. He has a great shot and gets it on net, and it’s paying off for him. He’s only a sophomore, but he’s going to be a good hockey player for us.’’

Peter Kelly (8 goals, 12 assists) also provided a big lift with his unselfish play, pushing the Mustangs atop the Bay State Conference’s Herget Division.
