Residents interested in serving with the local Medical Reserve Corps are encouraged to attend a meeting from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Department of Planning and Land Management Building, 141 Keyes Road. The corps is a group of volunteers, with and without medical backgrounds, who can respond to public health emergencies. Duties might include staffing a shelter, assisting at an immunization clinic, or being available to respond to a natural disaster such as an ice storm, flood, or tornado.
