FInal: Celtics 100-94: A gritty win given Ray Allen was lost to a jammed ankle in the second quarter and the Celtics struggled at the point guard position. Paul Pierce finished with 34 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds in a magnificent performance.

Fourth quarter, 31.3, Celtics 97-92: The Celtics are trying to hold on but needed one more good possession and got a jumper from Kevin Garnett, who has warmed up in the second half. They have committed 17 turnovers and have been sloppy with the ball at times. They have been carried by Paul Pierce, who has 33 points.

Fourth quarter, 3:23, Celtics 93-86: Paul Pierce is going off on the Wizards, he has 33 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds and his layup just gave the Celtics a little cushion in what has been an afternoon on attrition. Ray Allen is out with a jammed left ankle, joining Rajon Rondo, who is also out for the second consecutive game.

Fourth quarter, 5:55, Wizards 84-83: Celtics are running out of game and getting little from the point guard position. Avery Bradley and E'Twaun Moore are a combined 1-for-10 shooting. Bradley has five turnovers and seven assists. Paul Pierce has 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists in his best game of the season.

End of third quarter, Celtics 73-69: Celtics led by 13 in the quarter but the point guard play is killing them right now. Avery Bradley had five turnovers while E'Twaun Moore needs more experience. Paul Pierce is near a triple double.

Third quarter, 5:59, Celtics 63-53: Doc Rivers, sensing a slight shift in momentum, calls a timeout after a 4-0 Washington run. The Celtics are trying to give themselves a break and put some real distance between themselves and the Wizards. John Wall has been a one-man show with 18 points, including a stretch of 12 in a row.

Third quarter, 8:54, Celtics 57-44: Celtics are trucking without Ray Allen, who left the game with a jammed left ankle. Mickael Pietrus has scored 12 points and Paul Pierce is on a triple-double watch with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists as the Celtics try to get their swagger back without two starters.

Halftime, Celtics 49-40: Paul Pierce has had a break-out half with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists while Ray Allen has 7 points but left the game with a jammed left ankle. He is uncertain to return. Mickael Pietrus has 8 points and is being more aggressive. John Wall has 15 points for the Wizards, including the last 10 of the half.

Second quarter, 3:58, Celtics 40-32: Paul Pierce is beginning to look like his old self. He has 16 points with 6 rebounds and 3 assists and has drained both of his 3-point attempts. Ray Allen has 7 points but apparently sprained his ankle on an illegal screen by Washington's Jan Vesely and is in the locker room.
