No. 6-ranked Merrimack College bounced back from a loss in the weekend series opener and beat New Hampshire 3-2 in Durham in Hockey East action.
John Heffernan scored 19 seconds into overtime to lift the Warriors in Saturday night’s game. Merrimack improves to 13-5-5 and 9-4-3 in Hockey East, and UNH falls to 9-12-2 overall and 6-9-1 in league play.
UNH beat the visiting Merrimack Friday night.
New Hampshire returns to action next weekend with a home-and-home series against Boston College.
