BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

The cancellation of conductor Riccardo Chailly heavily impacted this week’s program, and the orchestra, in a rare move, chose to engage a replacement conductor for only one piece - Giancarlo Guerrero will lead the ensemble in Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring.’’ For the rest of the program the BSO will lead itself in music by Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Copland, and Henri Tomasi. BOSTON CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY

BCMS offers an ambitious program called “Exiled to Hollywood: Outcast Artists in Southern California.’’ Chris Pedro Trakas (baritone) and Randall Hodgkinson (piano) will perform selections from Hanns Eisler’s “Hollywood Songbook’’ as part of a program that includes music by Korngold, Toch, and others.
