On Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at 141 Keyes Road, the public health department is holding an information session to all who are interested. For more, call Susan Rask at 978 318-3275 or email srask@concordma.gov. It’s a great way to serve during public health emergencies.

Town Manager Chris Whelan notes in his weekly briefing for selectmen that new nonaffordable housing units are starting to rent. Called Concord Mews, the units are off Old Powder Mill Road. The rents have been established at $1,840/month for a one bedroom/one bath unit, to $3,100/month for a three bedroom/2 bath unit. Here is a new web site.

On Thursday and Friday mornings at 11:30 a.m. the CCHS Building Selection Committee will be interviewing candidates for construction manager in the Ripley Administration Building.

At the Council on Aging, take in the Men’s Monday Mid-Morning Muffin Meeting (MMMMM) on Monday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. Concord senior men: Join us for coffee and muffins at what we hope will become a regular opportunity to see old friends, meet new ones, and share ideas. We will ask for a $1 donation to cover the treats. Call the Council on Aging at 978-318-3020 to sign up.

Or catch a hit movie on Friday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. at COA Cinema for “The Help.” The New York Times best-seller by Kathryn Stockett comes to vivid life through the powerful performances of an ensemble cast led by Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Bryce Dallas Howard, The Help is an inspirational, courageous and empowering story about very different, extraordinary women in the 1960s South who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project — one that breaks society’s rules and puts them all at risk. Friday Flicks at Fowler continues with its 18th season on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. with “The Band’s Visit.” Fowler Library is at 1322 Main Street, just across the street from the Harvey Wheeler Center.

In high school sports, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, the girls varsity ice hockey team plays Lincoln Sudbury at LS at 3:30 p.m., and the boys varsity hockey team plays Chelmsford High School at 3:45 p.m. at home. Go Patriots!
