A best-selling author whose works have been made into several television movies and a feature film will be visiting Connecticut this weekend as the keynote speaker at the University of New Haven’s winter commencement.
Jodi Picoult (Pee-KOE’) will also receive an honorary doctorate degree at Saturday’s events, where she will speak to about 450 graduating students.
Picoult has written 18 novels, including “My Sister’s Keeper,’’ which became a 2009 movie starring Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin. One of her books also has a unique tie to UNH: The central character in “House Rules,’’ a 2010 book, idolizes UNH professor and forensic scientist Henry C. Lee.
