Zmags, a Boston company that helps such customers as retailers Kenneth Cole and Express to market their merchandise to consumers with smartphones and computer tablets, said today that it has secured $7 million in additional funding.

The financing is from new investor Square 1 Bank and existing investors OpenView Venture Partners and Northcap Partners, Zmags said. Since its inception, Zmags said it has raised more than $15 million in growth capital.

The new round of financing will enable Zmags to further fast-track its product development, client services, and strategy as big companies devote more of their ad dollars to so-called mobile marketing --- marketing to consumers with smartphones and tablets such as the iPad, the firm said.
