Santa Telethon raises $32,197

WAVM, Maynard High School’s student-run radio and TV station, held its 29th annual Beacon Santa Telethon earlier this month, raising $32,197 for area families in need. The 40-hour telethon, which was sponsored by Maynard’s Beacon Villager newspaper, included live bands, game shows, auctions, and cooking segments, and was run by WAVM students and alumni, a technical crew, on-air hosts, and other volunteers last weekend. - Michelle Cerulli
