Molly Jane Quinn and Jenna Talbott, two Design New England alumnae, are the brains behind the cheeky contemporary design blog, Unhappy Hipsters. They were anonymous until recently, when their first book, “It’s Lonely in the Modern World,’’ debuted through Chronicle Books. Talbott explains that the name of their blog is inspired by Dwell, one of their favorite publications, which happens to feature some pictures of moody subjects. “The homes were increasingly photographed with unhappy people. It started when Molly told a great story about the first photo [featured on the blog] of an unhappy child sitting all alone in a gorgeous home.’’ The designing women had the party for their book - which includes dry wit with design tips - at Twelve Chairs on A Street.
