Report: Chris Paul traded to the Clippers

After a week of wrangling and up-and-down negotiations, the league-owned New Orleans Hornets have agreed in principle to trade all-star point guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers, according to a report from NBA.com's David Aldridge.

The report was confirmed by various media outlets.

Paul was traded, along with two future Hornets first-round picks, to the Clippers for guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Amino and a first round draft pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Clippers had originally pulled out of the deal because the team felt the Hornets were asking too much for the all-star guard. At issue was including guard Eric Gordon. The Hornets beefed up their end of the original trade proposal with the two future first-round picks.

Paul is a career 18.7 points per game scorer, equally dynamic passing the ball (9.9 assists per game).
