The unique date of 11/11/11 was twice as nice for a Lynn woman yesterday.

Marly Deleon gave birth to twin boys by caesarean section at Massachusetts General Hospital yesterday morning. She scheduled the procedure when she was 25 weeks along, after learning the babies were in a breech, or feet-first, position.

“She decided to have them on 11/11,’’ said Kristen Stanton, a spokeswoman for Massachusetts General. “She thought it was a good, lucky number.’’

Eduardo was born at 11:52 a.m. He weighed six pounds, four ounces, and is 18 inches long. His younger brother, Fernando, was born at 11:53 a.m., and weighed six pounds, two ounces, and is 19 inches long.

There were no complications with the birth, Stanton said. “They look great.’’

Deleon is originally from Guatemala, and is currently a resident of Lynn. Deleon and her babies were resting comfortably yesterday, Stanton said. Hospital officials did not know when the family will be released.
