Walmart lists Black Friday sales

Walmart released its Black Friday circular yesterday - the earliest unveiling ever - with deals for the day after Thanksgiving that include a $248 HP laptop, a $69 Magellan GPS unit, and a $498 Samsung 51-inch plasma television set.

The chain is also featuring online-only offers on Thanksgiving day, such as a 46-inch HD television for under $400 and a choice of four select Blu-ray discs for $20.

Across the country, Walmart is offering timed specials in stores, kicking off at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving, and is launching its electronics event at midnight. Stores in Massachusetts will not open until midnight because of state laws.

“Our customers told us they would rather stay up late to shop than get up early, so we’re going to hold special events on Thanksgiving and Black Friday,’’ Duncan Mac Naughton, Walmart’s chief US merchandising officer, said in a prepared statement.
