I COMMEND Brown University’s decision to ban ROTC from its campus. An institution devoted to teaching the subject matter of civilization is not the place to be teaching its students the art of killing people. For anyone who has any illusions on the matter, that is what the military does, as General George S. Patton so forthrightly stated.
If the military wants to do this, let it set up its own educational facilities. Actually, I believe it already has one: West Point.
