INTERMISSION ***

(Showtime on Comcast) John Crowley’s raffish black comedy sets a talented ensemble cast loose in Dublin, where they carom off each other like angry marbles: It’s like an Altman movie with a mean streak and bigger laughs. Cillian Murphy plays a lovelorn young fool, Shirley Henderson sports the finest female moustache since Frida Kahlo, and Colin Farrell burns a hole through every scene he’s in. (R; runs through Jan. 10) TY BURR

MONTE CARLO **½

(Comcast Movies: All Movies) Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester, and Kate Cassidy wind up on the French Riviera after Gomez’s goodie two-shoes starts impersonating an heiress. If the Muzak score doesn’t put you to sleep, the wholesomeness would. But wholesomeness in itself isn’t a crime. It’s actually nice the way the movie occasionally mixes some enchantment in with all the obviousness. (PG; runs through March 25) WESLEY MORRIS

ADDICTED TO LOVE **½

(Starz on Comcast) A tricky balancing act, mostly brought off, as director Griffin Dunne brings an “After Hours’’ edge to this romantic comedy about jilted lovers. Meg Ryan and Matthew Broderick star. (R; runs through Nov. 12)
