Maine Today Media newspapers are urging voters to approve one casino question on the Nov., 8 ballot, but defeat the other.
Matching editorials appearing in the Maine Sunday Telegram, Kennebec Journal of Augusta and Central Maine Morning Sentinel ( http://bit.ly/cpzigG) of Waterville say voters should pass Question 2, which would allow racinos in Biddeford and Washington County.
The newspapers and their websites say the importance of harness racing as a contributor to Maine’s economy and valued element of the state’s cultural and social structure is too often overlooked. They dismiss arguments by opponents as “narrow-minded’’ and “frequently misleading.’’
