Cavalier Coach Trailways will end Framingham-Boston bus route

MetroWest commuters who head into Boston will have one fewer transportation option starting Oct. 21, when Cavalier Coach Trailways halts its commuter route from Framingham’s Route 9 park and ride lot into Boston via suburbs including Southborough, Weston, Wayland, and Sudbury. “We’ve tried a lot of different things and nothing has worked. Ridership has steadily gone down to the point that we’re losing $200 a day,” said owner, Joan Libby. “No matter what we did, it didn’t help.” Although Libby is ceasing her commuter service on the company’s luxury commuter buses, she’ll retain the company’s shuttle and bus chartering service, which is still going strong.
