The night closed out with "Modern Family' taking top honors in comedy and "Mad Men" in drama.

There were many familiar faces returning to the podium this year, including "Modern" and "Mad" as well as "The Daily Show,' "The Amazing Race," and "The Big Bang Theory" lead actor in a comedy winner Jim Parsons. There were also some pleasant surprises including victories for Kyle Chandler in the lead actor in a drama race and Jason Katims for writing on "Friday Night Lights." Other multiple winners included "Downton Abbey" and "Mildred Pierce" in the miniseries/movie races, with Kate Winslet scoring a lead actress trophy for "Pierce."
