Living for 32 8 p.m., Showtime

This documentary profiles Colin Goddard, who survived the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting when Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 people. After recovering from four gunshot wounds, Goddard (pictured) went on to become an anti-gun-violence activist. The hour follows him as he goes to gun shows across the country wearing a hidden camera, trying to prove how easy it is to get a gun without identification.

Happy Endings 5-11 p.m., ABC Family

ABC clearly sees a lot of potential in this comedy. It will be in the post-“Modern Family’’ slot when it returns on Sept 28, and tonight, in an effort to build the audience, ABC Family is running a marathon for the younger side of the demo. The show, which I’ve plugged a lot in this column (so shoot me), has a great ensemble energy. It makes me think of “Will & Grace’’ in the early years, so it makes sense that Megan Mullally will be guesting this coming season, as Casey Wilson’s mother.
