A former Port Authority official hailed for helping two people escape the World Trade Center on 9/11 but later convicted in two bribery cases is facing a return to prison.
Mark Jakubek (jah-KHOH’-behk) faces at least one year and up to 25 years behind bars at a sentencing set for Monday.
The former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey official was convicted in 2009 on charges of taking bribes to let a company overbill for work on the World Trade Center cleanup and other projects.
